i thought , okay , this guy is rather cool , and then i remembered a young friend who has worked in a gas station

a man cam in and asked for the money with a knife in his hand , and after he has received the money he asked my young friend for cigarettes

and what was so funny to me , he asked him for the fucking brand ” Marlboro , Camel ??

Wie beruhigend , die Erde wird erst in 5 Milliarden Jahren verglühen , natürlich ist das auch nur Fiction , aber wenn Doktor Who das sagt
was haben wir daraus gelernt ? der Doctor sagt ” Die menschliche Spezies , wie lächerlich, macht sich seit Jahrhunderten darüber Gedanken wie die Welt untergehen wird, dabei muss man sich nur darüber Gedanken machen wie man sein Leben gestaltet …….5 Milliarden Jahre , naja das muss uns doch nicht wirklich kümmern oder ??

Naja ich hab doch gesagt , den Film werde ich mir noch irgendwann einmal zu Gemüte führen, als ausgemachter Weltuntergangsfanatiker war das ja schon fast zwangsläufig.

Der Film mit Steve Carell ( Evan Allmächtig ) und Kira Knightley (Piraten der Karibik ) war dann auch die erhoffte Offenbarung für mich. Der Spießer Dodge geht trotz der Meldung , daß das Ende der Welt durch den Einschlag des Meteoriten “Matilda” in 3 Wochen bevorsteht , weiterhin seiner Beschäftigung als Versicherungsberater nach. Während um ihn herum die Welt zusammenbricht und sich seine Umwelt in allerlei Exzessen ergeht, bleibt er , obwohl seine Frau ihn verlässt, sich selbst und seiner schnöden , spießigen Lebensweise treu , bis seine Nachbarin Penny bei ihm aufkreuzt. Die flippige , völlig desorganisierte junge Frau bildet das völlige Gegenteil von dem was Dodge darstellt, aber im Gegensatz zu ihm hat sie völlig klare Vorstellungen von dem was ihr in Ihren letzten Tagen wichtig ist, das geht Dodge nach und nach auch auf .

Was ist wertvoll , was ist es nicht , welche Werte sollte man im Leben verfolgen ? das war die Frage, die in dem Film mehrmals beantwortet wurde, vordergründig als Komödie konzipiert, entwickelt sich aus der Auseinandersetzung mit dem Thema eine interessante Fallstudie, wie die verschiedenen Charaktere damit umgehen. Was würdet Ihr machen wenn Ihr noch 3 Wochen Zeit hättet bis eure Welt untergeht ?, es brauch keinen Weltuntergang um sich diese Frage einmal selbst zu beantworten. Man muß sich aber doch ernsthaft fragen , warum man es unter normalen Umständen noch nicht angegangen ist, brauch alles im Leben immer ein Ultimatum ??
